Approche to SouthSudan's History curriculum

The 22years civil war in South Sudan had been the longest civil war in the record.the Dec/15/2013 internal conflict is the most recent and serious setback in an almost 23years post-civil war.
South Sudan's history should strive for resilience hence,Neutral approach should be used.
The history in primary schools should be a focus on how people live and diversity while in secondary ,they should learn history of Identity and other peoples' history which will change their attitudes  before teaching the history of South Sudan. Why? History is the past, present and the future.when students are introduced to good side at an early stage, the heart of revenge would have been dealt with and they will start identifying themselves as "We not I "therefore learning history of South Sudan will be basically for knowledge.

  1. Dear Peace,
Your thoughts about South Sudan's Curriculum history to involve other people's history is really a good idea because it will of course reflect to them importance of living peacefully because of prioritizing, respecting and accepting national identity. but then, i wonder how it will be possible? which country's history? and who to/will decide that?

  2. Great post and great questions! When would you introduce South Sudan's history? Would this be saved for the later years of high school or even college? What of the young men and women who do not move beyond primary, will they ever be taught about the history of their nation? These are difficult questions and I'm happy to see you grappling with them!
